8/20

We had so much fun investigating the scientific method and whether carrots can float!  In fresh water, carrots sink, but if you add 1 tsp. of salt to 1 c. of water, a carrot will float!  We tried again with 2 c. of fresh water, and it took not 2 but 3 tsp. of salt to float the carrot.  Students are now writing their own investigation plan (due tomorrow).  IF they are able to conduct their investigation and report their results, they can earn science extra credit (through Tues. 8/26).  Thanks for your help with this!

1 c. water + 1 tsp. salt
 2 c. water + 3 tsp. salt

Finish spelling choice and vocabulary sentences!

Hi, Mrs. Dyer! Shyla conducted her own experiment last night using an egg (I had just few our last carrot to our guinea pigs!) She was very excited about it and we took pictures she would like me to share with you. What is your email address and is that the best way to get them to you?

Thanks,

Sheena
