Better late than never?


Unit 1, Week 1 Story: Miss Alaineous

Spelling words: Short vowels
Tuesday – Copy spelling words in ABC order in your agenda.
Wednesday – Write spelling words 3x each. Two times in cursive and one time in print. Follow the example we did in class together. Due Thursday.
Study each night for your test on Friday.

Monday-Thursday: Study vocabulary words and definitions each night for the test on Friday.
*DUE FRIDAY: Use each word in an original sentence that is at least ten words long. Please underline the word in the sentence. Don't forget to capitalize the beginning of your sentence and to use ending punctuation!

  4. strands – things similar to threads
  5. credit – something owed a person for work
  6. soggy – very wet or damp
  7. slumped – fell or sunk heavily
  8. gigantic – like a giant; huge

Vocabulary BONUS: Suppose that you have just signed up to take part in a talent contest. Instead of writing sentences, write a story about what happens before, during, and after the contest. Use as many of this week’s vocabulary words as possible in your story.
