Snack Requests for Milesones Testing

The Milestones Test begins April 26 and goes through May 5.  Each class has been instructed to ask parents for snacks during their break in the middle of the test. My class has 23 students.  Could you send snacks?  Some students will be taking their tests in smaller groups in other parts of the building, so pre-packaged snacks will be best. Thanks for all that you do for our school and our students.

Cheese Crackers                       Teddy Grahams
Plain Crackers                          Fruit Roll Ups

4-H Canned Food Drive through 12/18

4-H is sponsoring a canned food drive to help fill our local food pantry.  We have a collection box in our classroom and can accept donations through 12/18.  (Please make sure items have not expired.)  Mr. Jennings also announced that an anonymous donor will be matching a $1 donation for each item, so your item(s) will go even further.  Now is a great time to think of others!  Below are suggestions, but any nonperishable item is welcome.

As an added incentive to help others, 4-H is offering a pizza party to the class that donates the most items.  Whether we win or not, we know how good it feels to help others.  To encourage participation, students may also earn a Class Dojo "Helping Others" point for each item they bring in.

(If you haven't signed up for Class Dojo, I will be happy to resend your log in information if you need it.)

11/10

Today was our Veterans program in the stadium involving grades 2-12.  Our boys and girls were very respectful and well behaved during this moving ceremony honoring those who served.  Here's a quick video about Veterans Day from PBS.

Finish science WB p. 50-55 if you haven't already.

Please try to get caught up in AM if you don't have at least 50 objectives (goal is 55 this week).

Sign & return signed papers.

Work on CHAMPS essay (due Fri.) and spelling/vocabulary choices if you have them (less than 90% on respective test last week).

Study for the Ch. 3 science test Fri.

Snow cones for STEM are Thurs. ($1).

We need brown paper grocery bags (one per student) for an upcoming in-class project on 11/23 (our craft morning).  Please ask for paper instead of plastic the next time you're at the store and send in a bag or two.  Thank you!

Wanted!

We have a student working on a community based project and will use old crayons to create new crayons. If you have any old crayons that you can part with, just send them to the office.

Also, we need kleenex in our classroom.

Thank you!

Help Wanted!

Our cupboards are bare (or at least running low)!  If at all possible, could you send in treats for our treat bucket?  Things like individually wrapped candy and stickers are greatly appreciated.

Our treasure box only seems to have "girly" items lately.  If you have any new or gently used small toys or other fun treasures, we would love to give them away.  Students earn trips to the treasure box for winning the ticket lottery on Friday, earning their book goal, earning 100 AM objectives, etc., etc., etc.

Also, a heads up!  We are really close to earning 150 stars (141 is a class record from 2 years ago), which will result in a MAJOR party.  I would appreciate your help if you can when the time rolls around!

Can you help?

As part of our craft day on Tuesday, we need COOKIES for the class!  They can be any kind at all.  I have hot chocolate and cups but need a little extra special snack.  Thank you in advance if you can send some in.

WANTED: Old T-Shirts

If you have any old, clean t-shirts (any size, any color) that you no longer want, we could use several! I want to cut them up to make erasure cloths for our new mini dry-erase boards. Thank you so much for your help! As the saying goes, one person's trash is another one's treasure.
